Well these days and very much because of work I had to use Windows Server 2008 in order to use the new Hyper-V and other stuff. The problem was that my computer was starting to become only a server and not a entertainment point.
So I decided to make a change!
Partition 1 - Windows Vista Ultimate with Windows Media Center
Partition 2 - Windows Server 2008
This is cool, now I can play and work on the same machine (I know this isn't a new thing but sure comes in handy).
Well, now that I've installed Windows Vista, I need to connect it to my Xbox 360 (I bought an Elite ahahahahahah).
So the Windows Media Center Extender does the trick and now I can watch my movies and pics on my TV while I'm on my couch with my laptop on wireless, but wouldn't it be cool if somehow I could watch my DivX movies on the Xbox360 having them on my laptop?
That's right... it is possible!
I've talked to an expertise of Windows Media Center in Portugal and current MSP Lead - Nuno Silva about the possibility to that fact and he talked about the Transcoder360.
And the fact is... it works! Just install ffdshow too and I can watch comfortably a movie on my TV.
Just to point a fact that is need a good amount of memory in the host computer to transcode in the moment the movie runs. My laptop is a Core2Duo with 4Gb of memory but I made a test in a Core2Duo with 2GB and the result was the same.
